The Consulate of India in Perth, in partnership with the International Business Council of Australia (IBC), recently organized an insightful session on Energy Transition Minerals & Metals for Battery Production. The event brought together key industry experts to discuss the evolving landscape of critical minerals, renewable hydrogen, mining, and METS (Mining Equipment, Technology & Services), highlighting the strengthening India-Australia collaboration in these sectors.
In his welcome address, Naresh Kumar, Acting Consul General of India, underscored the importance of securing reliable supply chains for critical minerals essential to clean energy and battery technologies.
The discussion featured contributions from industry leaders, including Dr Dilawar Singh, President of IBC Australia and Chairman of Sun Brilliance Group, Tony Dopheide, Director at Sedgman, Rhys Callaghan, Senior Process Engineer at Sedgman, and Len Greenhalgh, Project Management Consultant at Aegis Engineering Support Services.
Dr Vidhu Sharma, Secretary General of IBC Australia, emceed the event, which served as a key platform for fostering innovation, investment, and deeper partnerships in sustainable resource development.
