The festival of colours, Holi, was recently celebrated in its full traditional glory in Perth, as the Consulate of India, in collaboration with Hindi Samaj WA and Uttar Pradesh Awadh Manch WA (UPAM), organized the Hullad 2025 festivities. The event highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Uttar Pradesh, immersing attendees in a vibrant celebration of music, dance, and poetry.
The festivities featured traditional Holi songs, folk music (lok sangeet), poetry (kavita), and dance performances (nritya), recreating the spirit of Holi as celebrated in northern India. The event served as a cultural bridge, strengthening community bonds and promoting Indian traditions in Australia’s multicultural society.
With colours, rhythm, and joy filling the atmosphere, Hullad 2025 provided a unique opportunity for the Indian diaspora and the broader community to experience the essence of Holi in an authentic and festive setting.
