CG explores Australia-India agricultural cooperation at AJTP

Consul General (CG) Dr. Sushil Kumar recently visited the Ararat Jobs and Technology Precinct (AJTP) at Federation University Australia, engaging in discussions with Dr. Tim Harrison, CEO of Ararat Rural City Council, Prof. Harpinder Sandhu, and other AJTP faculty members and researchers.

The meeting highlighted collaborative opportunities between Australia and India in agriculture, focusing on a joint research initiative, “End-to-End Traceability in Agricultural Commodities,” backed by the Centre for Australia-India Relations. The project aims to enhance transparency and efficiency in the agricultural supply chain, a priority for both nations.

During his visit, Dr. Kumar also toured a local farm, speaking with a farmer to gain insights into Australian farming practices and how bilateral agricultural partnerships can support sustainable growth. The visit underscored the potential for strengthened ties and shared innovation in agriculture between Australia and India.
