New leadership team elected for Tamil Association of Queensland

The Tamil Association of Queensland has elected its new committee for 2026, ushering in a fresh leadership team to guide the organisation’s community and cultural initiatives.

Karthick Elangovan has been appointed president, supported by Dr Satha Iyathurai as vice president. The role of Secretary will be undertaken by Uma Agnal Anton Madhan, while Senapathy Gunalan has been named treasurer.

The committee is further strengthened by members Preethi Raju, Kandiah Varadhan and Madhanmohan Karunamoorthy, who will contribute to advancing the association’s programmes and outreach efforts.

The association also acknowledged Palani O Thevar OAM for presiding over the annual general meeting, ensuring the smooth and orderly conduct of proceedings.

Members of the community have extended their support to the newly elected team, expressing optimism about continued growth and the promotion of Tamil culture and heritage across Queensland.
