Consul General Amarjeet Singh Takhi officially inaugurated the India Pavilion at the Indo-Pacific Space and Earth Conference (IPSEC) 2024, held at Crown Perth, recently. The pavilion was led by the Satcom Industry Association-India (SIA-India) in collaboration with the Western Australian (WA) Government, showcasing over 10 Indian space industry companies. These companies presented their capabilities and explored opportunities for collaboration with global space organizations, aiming to strengthen existing partnerships and establish new alliances in the growing space sector.
Enrico Palermo, Head of the Australian Space Agency, also visited the Indian Pavilion, where he was felicitated by SIA-India. Consul General Takhi engaged with space industry officials and experts while connecting with visiting Indian representatives. He also visited the exhibit on Australia’s prototype lunar rover, designed by the Perth-based Australian Remote Operations for Space and Earth consortium.
The exhibition, which ran until November 28, 2024, also featured a major announcement from WA-based LatConnect60, who revealed their joint project with Indian launch service provider Skyroot Aerospace to launch their first satellite in December 2026. This initiative is funded by the Australian Space Agency under its International Space Investment India Projects grant, designed to facilitate collaboration between Australian businesses and Indian space sector organizations.
