The India Connect Technology and Innovation Symposium, a joint initiative by Invest & Trade WA and the Centre for Australia-India Relations (CAIR), was held at the WACA Ground on the eve of The West Test, recently. The event brought together experts, policymakers, and industry leaders to discuss the strengthening of cooperation between India and Australia in key sectors such as technology, innovation, research collaboration, infrastructure, and renewable energy. The discussions were moderated by Prof. Gordon Flake, CEO of Perth US Asia Centre, and saw intense exchanges on fostering deeper bilateral ties.
Following the symposium, the Western Australia Sundowner took place at Optus Stadium, with prominent figures such as former Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist, WA Minister for Agriculture and Food Jackie Jarvis, CEOs of Cricket Australia and CAIR, and the Chair of Cricket WA in attendance. Consul General Amarjeet Singh Takhi actively engaged with participants at both events, promoting collaboration and partnership between India and Australia.
A special moment at the sundowner was the recognition of the crew of INSV Tarini, who were honored for their extraordinary courage during their ambitious circumnavigation journey. Their achievement was widely appreciated and applauded by all dignitaries, marking the evening as a celebration of both innovation and remarkable human spirit.
