Consul General interacts with Melbourne youth at start of Know India Programme

Melbourne, January 5 (Australia India News Newsdesk)

The Consul General of India, Melbourne, Dr Sushil Kumar, recently interacted with Sahil Dhiman from Melbourne, who is taking part in the 85th edition of the Know India Programme (KIP), which is currently underway in India from January 6–27, 2026.

During the meeting, the Consul General outlined the key features and objectives of the programme, highlighting its focus on strengthening participants’ understanding of India’s cultural heritage, governance framework, and contemporary progress. The programme also enables participants to visit important institutions and engage with leaders from various sectors.

As part of the interaction, air tickets were handed over to Sahil Dhiman, along with best wishes for a meaningful and memorable stay in India.

An ongoing initiative of the Government of India, the Know India Programme continues to play an important role in deepening engagement with the Indian diaspora by offering first-hand exposure to the country’s social, cultural, and economic life.
