The Consul General hosted a Diwali Reception at Thornbury Theatre, recently. The reception was attended by guests from various walks of life, including Bill Shorten, Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme of Australia, Natalie Hutchins MP Minister for Treaty and First Peoples of Victoria, John Pesutto, Leader of the Opposition in Victoria, Parliamentarians, CEOs, community leaders and members from the Indian diaspora.
Rajasthani folk dance group led by Rashid Khan, sent by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, and local talents from the Indian diaspora entertained the guests with their performances in a festive atmosphere. Dheepa Awtani was the master of the ceremony.
