The Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, a prominent segment of the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, was inaugurated jointly by Indian External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar, the Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, and Odisha’s Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. Designed to inspire and empower young overseas Indians, the event highlighted their role in driving India’s progress.
Themed sessions focused on technology, innovation, and cultural heritage, encouraging the diaspora youth to serve as global ambassadors of Indian culture. This collaborative effort underscores the government’s commitment to nurturing youth engagement and cementing their pivotal role in achieving the vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
Exhibitions showcase diaspora’s contributions to India’s growth
The PBD 2025 featured captivating exhibitions that celebrated the diaspora’s enduring contributions to India’s development. Key exhibits included “Vishwaroop Ram – The Universal Legacy of Ramayana,” which explored the global resonance of the Ramayana, and “Diaspora’s Contribution to Technology and Viksit Bharat,” which highlighted groundbreaking innovations led by Indians abroad.
The exhibits offered a harmonious blend of cultural history and futuristic perspectives, underscoring the global Indian community’s indispensable role in shaping India’s development journey.
Atul Temurnikar honoured with Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award
Atul Temurnikar, a trailblazer in education and community service, received the prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award 2025 at the PBD Convention. His contributions reflect this year’s theme, “Diaspora’s Contribution to a Viksit Bharat,” and exemplify the global diaspora’s commitment to societal progress.
Temurnikar’s achievements were celebrated as a testament to the Indian diaspora’s role in enhancing India’s global image and fostering innovation, cultural pride, and unity.
