Sydney Consulate marks ICCR Foundation Day with cultural performances

Community gathering showcases India’s classical and folk traditions

Sydney, April 14 (Australia India News Newsdesk)

The Consulate General of India in Sydney commemorated the Foundation Day of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) with a cultural programme that brought together the Indian diaspora and well-wishers of India.

Addressing the gathering, Consul General Dr Janakiraman highlighted the importance of cultural engagement in strengthening people-to-people connections and international goodwill.

The event featured a variety of performances, including classical Bharatanatyam dance as well as lively folk and Bhangra presentations, reflecting the diversity of India’s artistic traditions.

The celebration underscored ICCR’s ongoing role in promoting Indian culture abroad and fostering meaningful cultural exchanges that strengthen bonds between communities.
