A Rajasthani folk dance group led by Rashid Khan captivated Melbourne audiences during Diwali celebrations held from October 25-28. Sponsored by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, the group performed at various events organized by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Celebrate India Inc. at Federation Square, Baithak Inc., the Consulate General of India at Thornbury Theatre, and CPA Australia.
Thousands from Melbourne’s multicultural communities joined in the festive spirit, enjoying the lively performances of the Langa Dance group and even dancing along to traditional Rajasthani music. The performances not only highlighted India’s rich cultural heritage but also showcased the power of art to bring communities together.
