The Telugu community in Perth celebrated Ugadi Vedukalu 2026 with great enthusiasm, as the Western Australia Telugu Association Inc. hosted a vibrant event to mark the Telugu New Year.
The Consul General of India in Perth attended the celebrations as Chief Guest, underscoring the importance of community-led cultural initiatives in preserving traditions overseas.
The programme featured a variety of cultural performances, music and traditional showcases, reflecting the richness of Telugu heritage. Community members participated actively, creating a festive and inclusive atmosphere.
Organisers said the celebrations aimed to strengthen cultural identity and bring the community together, while also sharing Telugu traditions with a wider audience in Western Australia.
