Noted singer Maithili Thakur enthralls audience; participates in Gurpurav

Consul General Dr. Sushil Kumar recently welcomed Maithili Thakur, the acclaimed Indian singer and recipient of the 2024 Cultural Ambassador Award, during her visit to Melbourne. Thakur delivered a spellbinding performance at Federation Square, organized by ALWAYS LIVE, where she mesmerized the audience with her diverse renditions in multiple Indian languages, reflecting India’s rich cultural heritage.
Her concert, which fused traditional and contemporary Indian music, was a highlight of the evening, leaving the audience in awe of her talent and versatility.
Also, Thakur participated in the Gurpurav celebration of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji at the Victorian Parliament, where she was honored by parliamentarians John Pesutto and Pauline Richards MP. The recognition celebrated her significant contribution to promoting Indian music and culture globally.
