Anish Rajan, Consul General of India in Melbourne, participated in the Youth Festival and India’s National Youth Day celebrations hosted by the Vivekananda Society of Australia (VSA), highlighting the society’s continued contribution to cultural and youth engagement within the Indian community.
During the programme, the Consul General acknowledged the consistent efforts of VSA in spreading the message and ideals of Swami Vivekananda. He expressed appreciation for the commitment shown by Yogesh Bhatt, Founder and President of the organisation, as well as its volunteers and supporters, in advancing Indian cultural and philosophical traditions in Melbourne.
Rajan underlined the importance of such community-led initiatives in inspiring young people and strengthening cultural connections across generations. He noted that the society’s activities have helped promote a deeper understanding of Indian values through festivals, educational initiatives, and youth-oriented programmes.
Observed annually to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, National Youth Day celebrations in Melbourne brought together youth and community members in an atmosphere focused on learning, cultural pride, and social responsibility.
