Consul General joins Groundbreaking for Perdaman Solar Poject in Karratha

The Consul General of India, Perth, Kajari Biswas, attended the groundbreaking ceremony of Perdaman’s Project Helios – Phase 1 in Karratha on March 4, marking the launch of a 30MW solar farm project in Western Australia.

The ceremony was officiated by Western Australia Premier Roger Cook and Vikas Rambal, Founding Chairman and Managing Director of Perdaman. Among those present at the event was Kevin Michel MLA, the Member for Pilbara.

The 30MW solar farm will be developed at Site ‘F’ within the Burrup Strategic Industrial Area. The project will also include solar installations across the rooftops of buildings associated with Project Ceres, including the urea plant facilities and sheds.

Perdaman has indicated that onsite construction is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2026. The company estimates that the solar farm will be completed within 12 months once construction begins.

The development is part of Perdaman’s broader initiatives aimed at integrating renewable energy solutions within its industrial operations in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
