Consul General Dr. S. Janakiraman, along with Consul Niravkumar, Councillors Cr Sameer Pandey and Patricia Prociv, and members of the Gandhi Samiti in Australia, gathered at Jubilee Park on October 2 to pay floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi in honour of Gandhi Jayanti.
Dr. Janakiraman highlighted Gandhi’s legacy of peace and non-violence, stressing the importance of cleanliness in daily life. He connected this message to the Indian government’s Swachh Bharat Mission, aimed at enhancing sanitation and hygiene across India. The event served as a powerful reminder of Gandhi’s teachings and their ongoing relevance in fostering social responsibility within the community.
