Mumbai, Aug 27 (IANS) – “Bigg Boss 19” contestant Tanya Mittal has made headlines after revealing she carried more than 800 sarees into the reality show hosted by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.

An entrepreneur, social activist, and fashion enthusiast, Tanya is known for her love of Indian textiles and dedication to promoting traditional crafts. For her, the saree is not just an outfit but a symbol of identity.

Speaking about her preparations before entering the house, Tanya said: “I am not leaving my luxuries behind. I’m taking my jewellery, accessories, and more than 800 sarees with me. I’ve planned three saree changes every day.”

This season, themed “Gharwalon Ki Sarkaar”, features contestants including Gaurav Khanna, Amaal Mallik, Awez Darbar, Ashnoor Kaur, Mridul Tiwari, Nagma Mirajkar, Kunickaa Sadanand, Baseer Ali, Abhishek Bajaj, Tanya Mittal, Zeishan Quadri, Nehal Chudasama, Natalia Janoszek, Pranit More, Farhana Bhatt, and Neelam Giri.

Tanya has been nominated for eviction this week along with Gaurav Khanna, Neelam Giri, Natalia, Abhishek Bajaj, Zeeshan Quadri, and Pranit More. Her remarks inside the house have already sparked online chatter, particularly after her statement that she prefers being addressed as “ma’am” and that her family calls her “boss.”

Following her nomination, Tanya was seen in tears, expressing that the biggest disappointment came from being nominated by Pranit More and Mridul Tiwari, whom she had considered friends.

Meanwhile, evicted contestant Farhana Bhatt is currently in the secret room and has been tasked by Bigg Boss to share her views on the nomination reasons given by housemates.

“Bigg Boss 19” streams on JioCinema and airs on Colors. Adapted from the Dutch format Big Brother, the Indian version premiered in 2004 and remains one of the country’s most popular reality shows, featuring contestants living together in an isolated house under constant surveillance.
