Mumbai, Aug 29 (IANS) — Actress Ananya Panday says growing up with both Bollywood and international content has shaped her as an artist, pushing her to seek out roles that are fresh, layered, and relatable.
“I love that we have access to both the drama and emotion of Bollywood and the realism and depth of global storytelling. It makes you want to find roles that are layered and fresh, but still entertaining,” Ananya told IANS.
The 26-year-old actress added that she is drawn to characters audiences can identify with but who also bring something unique. “I gravitate towards characters that feel relatable but also have something a little different, whether it’s in how they dress, speak, or see the world,” she said.
Ananya, who recently hosted an Airbnb Original experience curated with her A-team, has a packed lineup ahead with two major projects — Chand Mera Dil and Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri.
Chand Mera Dil, announced in November 2024, is described as a passionate love story directed by Vivek Soni, best known for Meenakshi Sundareshwar (2021).
Meanwhile, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri reunites Ananya with Kartik Aaryan after their 2019 hit Pati Patni Aur Woh. The film also features Jackie Shroff, Neena Gupta, and others in key roles. Backed by Karan Johar along with Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Shareen Mantri Kedia, and Kishor Arora, it is slated for release on February 13, 2026.
Kartik will also be seen in an untitled Anurag Basu film, set for a Diwali 2025 release.
