Adah Sharma on ‘Haatak’: Glad that filmmakers are seeing me in diverse characters

Mumbai, Aug 28 (IANS) – The makers of the upcoming crime thriller Haatak have unveiled the first look of actress Adah Sharma, who expressed her excitement about exploring another distinctive role following her performances in The Kerala Story, Sunflower 2 and Reeta Sanyal.

Sharing her enthusiasm, Adah said: “I’m very excited to be working on Haatak. Ajay sir is a renowned ad filmmaker, and this marks his feature film debut. When I read the script and heard his clear vision, I was immediately on board. I’m also glad that filmmakers are seeing me in such diverse characters.”

In the poster, Adah appears in an intense look as Shivranjani Acharya — dressed in a trench coat and suit, wearing a cap, and holding a gun — reflecting the film’s gritty and raw tone. The film carries the tagline, “One Heist, No Mercy.”

Director-writer Ajay K Sharmaa, who has made his mark in the advertising world, shared: “With Haatak, I wanted to bring a story inspired by real incidents to the big screen in the most authentic and hard-hitting way. The film isn’t just about a heist; it explores power, morality, and the price of one’s choices. Adah brings a fierce intensity to Shivranjani Acharya that matches exactly what I envisioned for the character.”

Produced by 8 Pictures, Haatak will be shot across Rajasthan and other parts of North India in a start-to-finish schedule, with a theatrical release planned for 2026.

Adah Sharma made her acting debut with the 2008 Hindi horror hit 1920 and later appeared in the romantic comedy Hasee Toh Phasee. She went on to establish herself in South cinema with films like Heart Attack, S/O Satyamurthy, and Kshanam, before starring in the blockbuster The Kerala Story.
