INSV Tarini crew inspires WA students with story of global voyage

Over a hundred students from the Specialist Marine Studies Programme at Ocean Reef Senior High School had a memorable experience recently when they interacted with Lt. Cdr. Roopa and Lt. Cdr. Dilna of INSV Tarini. The two navy officers, currently in Fremantle as part of the Navika Sagar Parikrama-II expedition, shared their incredible journey of circumnavigating the globe.
The students, who are part of one of Western Australia’s premier marine studies programmes, were captivated by the inspiring stories and lessons from the officers’ challenging voyage. The interaction provided a unique learning opportunity for the students, who were eager to hear firsthand accounts of the expedition.
Ocean Reef Senior High School Principal Dr. James Kent and Associate Principal Ashti Mullen warmly welcomed the INSV Tarini crew and facilitated the enriching exchange between the navy officers and the students. The event was a highlight for both the school and the visiting crew, fostering inspiration and admiration for the officers’ courage and dedication.
