20th anniversary of Canberra Hindi School celebrated

Acting High Commissioner attends milestone event highlighting cultural and linguistic ties

The Acting High Commissioner of India took part in the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Canberra Hindi School, marking a significant milestone for the community-driven institution.

As noted by the High Commission of India in Canberra, the school has been instrumental in promoting Hindi language and cultural awareness, thereby contributing to stronger Australia-India ties. Established as a community-led initiative, it continues to play an important role in connecting younger generations with their linguistic and cultural roots.

The event saw the presence of several distinguished guests, including Minister of Finance Senator Katy Gallagher, Federal MP David Smith, the Ambassador of Nepal, and ACT Shadow Minister for Multicultural Affairs Chiaka Barry. Members of the Indian diaspora and other dignitaries also attended the celebrations.

The occasion highlighted the value of community initiatives in fostering cultural exchange and strengthening bonds between diverse communities in Australia.
