Brisbane, April 10 (Australia India News Newsdesk)

The Consulate General of India in Brisbane hosted a painting competition on April 9, 2026, as part of celebrations marking the 77th Foundation Day of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).

Held under the theme “Cultural Heritage and Touristic Destinations of India,” the competition encouraged participants to artistically portray India’s traditions, famous landmarks, and diverse cultural landscapes. The event saw impressive creativity, with participants presenting visually rich interpretations of India’s heritage.

In addition to the competition, an Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) workshop was conducted on the sidelines. The session focused on the need to protect Indian art and cultural expressions, while also educating participants about artists’ rights in today’s digital and globalised world.

The initiative brought together cultural appreciation and awareness, highlighting the importance of both creative expression and the protection of artistic work.
