A vibrant celebration of women’s empowerment and achievement was held in Perth as the Indian Society of Western Australia (ISWA) organised its Naari Celebrations, attended by the Consul General of India.
The event brought together members of the Indian community to honour the spirit of Naari Shakti, recognising the contributions of women across diverse fields. The programme featured cultural performances, inspiring moments and showcases highlighting the accomplishments of women within the community.
Women entrepreneurs were also given a platform to present their businesses, reflecting their increasing influence and participation in the economic and social landscape.
The celebrations were attended by several dignitaries, including Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson MLA, Opposition Leader Basil Zempilas MLA, Dr Parwinder Kaur MLC, Ayor Makur Chuot MLC, Yaz Mubarakai MLA and Dr Jags MLA, demonstrating strong institutional support for community initiatives.
Organisers said the event aimed to promote recognition, inclusion and empowerment, while strengthening community bonds. The programme was well received, with attendees praising its focus on celebrating and uplifting women’s contributions.
