The Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland (ECCQ) is set to organise an onsite workshop under its Interpreter Employment Success Program (IESP) on March 18, aimed at supporting language professionals in building sustainable careers in interpreting.
Titled “Employment Through Language – Building Sustainable Interpreting Careers,” the workshop will be held from 10 am to 2 pm at the Jubilee Bowls Club in Mundingburra. The session will provide participants with an opportunity to explore new career pathways beyond freelance work and gain insights into specialising and upskilling to expand professional opportunities.
Organisers said the programme will also enable attendees to connect with experienced interpreters and industry experts, while offering practical tips to strengthen career prospects and professional confidence.
The initiative forms part of ECCQ’s broader efforts to support employment pathways for culturally and linguistically diverse communities. The project is funded by the Queensland Government and is expected to attract aspiring and practising interpreters from across the region.
