Parramatta Square hosts trophy tour ahead of AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026

 Excitement is building for the upcoming AFC Women’s Asian Cup as the tournament trophy toured Parramatta Square, giving fans a preview of one of Asia’s premier women’s football competitions scheduled from March 1 to March 21, 2026.

A total of 12 teams — Australia, Bangladesh, China PR, Chinese Taipei, DPR Korea, India, Iran, Japan, Korea Republic, Philippines, Uzbekistan and Vietnam — will compete in the championship, which is expected to draw strong support from football followers across the region.

The trophy tour stop in Sydney aimed to boost community engagement and encourage fans to experience the tournament atmosphere firsthand. Organisers have urged supporters to secure their tickets early and be part of the celebration of women’s football as the countdown to kick-off continues.
