Chennai, Nov 27 (IANS):
Actor Vineeth Srinivasan has officially joined the sets of director Arun Anirudhan’s highly anticipated Malayalam film Athiradi, industry sources confirmed.
The film, headlined by Basil Joseph, Tovino Thomas, and Vineeth Srinivasan, began its second shooting schedule on November 18. The team had initially planned to start the schedule on November 12 but faced a minor delay. While Tovino Thomas joined the shoot on November 23, Vineeth Srinivasan came on board on November 25. The current schedule is expected to be completed in one continuous stretch.
Athuradi has generated significant buzz as it marks the first time Basil Joseph, Tovino Thomas, and Vineeth Srinivasan will share the screen. A recently released teaser introduced the trio’s characters in sequence, hinting at a mass action entertainer with distinctly different roles and personalities for each of the leads. The teaser’s punchline suggests the film aims to deliver a high-energy theatrical experience.
The film is produced by Basil Joseph Entertainments in association with Doctor Ananthu Entertainments. Directed by debutant Arun Anirudhan — one of the writers of the Malayalam superhero film Minnal Murali — Athiradi reunites the successful Minnal Murali team of Tovino Thomas, Basil Joseph, Sameer Thahir, and Anirudhan.
The script has been co-written by Paulson Skaria and Arun Anirudhan. The technical crew includes cinematographer Samuel Henry, music composer Vishnu Vijay, editor Chaman Chacko, and costume designer Mashar Hamsa.
