Sonam Bajwa: Don’t deserve what I’ve got, God has always favoured me

New Delhi, Oct 31 (IANS) — Actress Sonam Bajwa, who continues to balance her work between Punjabi and Hindi cinema, says she doesn’t believe success equates to having “arrived.” Despite her growing popularity, the actress feels she still has a long way to go and credits her achievements entirely to divine grace.

Speaking to IANS about her journey and whether she feels she has achieved it all, Sonam said, “No, not at all. I’m not trying to be modest — I genuinely don’t feel that way. I feel like I still have to work very hard. Even in Punjab, where I’ve done several films, I get just as excited and nervous before every new project.”

She added, “I’m always trying to figure out how to make this better, how to make this successful, how to improve. I don’t know how people perceive me, but I don’t think I’ve ‘made it.’ I’m confident in my work, but I always feel I could have done more. That nervousness never goes away.”

Reflecting on her journey, Sonam expressed deep gratitude for the opportunities that have come her way. “I’m very grateful — honestly, I don’t think I deserve what I’ve got. God has always favoured me, and I completely believe that. But have I ‘made it’? I don’t think so. I don’t even think about it,” she said.

Sonam was recently seen in Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat alongside Harshvardhan Rane. Directed by Milap Zaveri, the romantic drama also features Shaad Randhawa, Sachin Khedekar, Ananth Narayan Mahadevan, and Rajesh Khera.

The film tells the story of a powerful politician who falls in love with a strong-willed superstar — a passionate romance that soon spirals into a dangerous game of obsession, pride, and heartbreak.
