PKL 12: Patna Pirates record 35-point win over Dabang Delhi with Ayan masterclass; remain in playoffs race

New Delhi, Oct 23 (IANS) — The Patna Pirates produced a sensational performance to thrash Dabang Delhi K.C. 61-26 in Season 12 of the Pro Kabaddi League at Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium, recording the biggest win of the season and keeping their playoff hopes alive with one league-stage match remaining against Jaipur Pink Panthers.

The Pirates were sparked by star raider Ayan, who led from the front throughout the match. He opened the scoring for Patna and continued to dominate, completing a Super 10 while triggering multiple All Outs that allowed the Pirates to pile on the points.

Dabang Delhi kept pace in the early exchanges, with Akshit scoring key raids to keep the score close at 7-7 by the first Strategic Time Out. However, after the break, Patna Pirates took full control. Ayan’s precise raids and strong team tackles quickly built a double-digit lead. By halftime, the Pirates were ahead 19-13.

In the second half, Patna maintained their relentless pressure. Successful raids from Ayan, Ankit Kumar, and Milan Dahiya, combined with sharp tackles from Navdeep, helped the Pirates inflict multiple All Outs. Ankit completed a Super 10, while Navdeep reached a High 5, highlighting the team’s balanced performance.

Despite Akshit’s occasional raids for Dabang Delhi, the gap proved insurmountable. The Pirates added a Super Tackle in the closing minutes to seal a commanding 35-point victory, moving them into a strong position for the playoffs.

Patna Pirates’ all-round performance, led by Ayan’s masterclass, showcased their attacking and defensive depth, sending a strong message ahead of their final league-stage clash.
