Ayurveda Day celebrated with focus on global health and innovation

The 9th Ayurveda Day, themed ‘Global Health and Innovation,’ was celebrated recently at the Perth Hindu Temple with over 100 attendees and the participation of over 10 Ayurveda and Homeopathy doctors. The event offered onsite free consultations by Ayurvedacharyas.
The celebration began with a prayer to Lord Dhanvantari, recited by students from VTCS-Vedic Training and Cultural Services, followed by a Kuchipudi dance performance by Dr. Sheena Kartha. Consul General Amarjeet Singh Takhi welcomed participants, emphasizing Ayurveda’s significance in promoting a healthy lifestyle, while Cr. Caren Baayens of the City of Gosnells highlighted Ayurveda’s holistic approach.
An expert panel of Ayurveda practitioners, including Dr. Vidhu Sharma, Dr. Siva Krishnan, Dr. Sejal Shah, and Dr. Jini Jacob, discussed the benefits of Ayurveda for holistic health, mental well-being, and seasonal diet changes. The panel was moderated by Nidhi Sanghrajka of SRMD Yoga.
The event also featured an interactive Q&A session with Ayurveda experts Karin Lakshmi Gunthor and Neerja Ahuja. The celebration concluded with a saatvik annadanam provided by the Temple authorities. Community youth Janani Jayaseelan emceed the entire program.
